Scott Pilgrim vs Chantal Awesome (What I'm Playing.)

Hey everybody, Chantal here. I would like to introduce you guys. To a game. A game known as Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game. What a fantastic name it is. And also to a new series. What I'm Playing.  Me and Reese will occasionally post little bits and bobs pertaining to whatever game we are playing atm. That's internet speak for "at the moment." The more you know.

Anywho, my character of choice is Ramona. She has an awesome hammer, which she breaks out from "hammer" space. Get it? No. Okay. Reese likes to use Kim, she can regenerate her health, but eh. To me Ramona is way cooler, with her blue hair and her pink shorts. One thing I hate though: It's a tad difficult. Even with two people. By yourself well... let's not go there. This game is so much fun, if you're wary about buying it, you could always download the demo and test it out. But trust me, you'll most likely love it. HTH.

Also, I guess the title should be what we're playing, but eh. I play it more, so HA!

Super Mario 64 is scary...

Hello everyone, Reese here. Todaaaaay I am going to show you the scariest things in the game known as Super Mario 64 which was released June 23, 1996.

In no particular order here we go:

The Basement -

The basement always scared me as a kid. I just hated going down there. When I walk down there it just seems like an insane killer is going to jump out from nowhere. Just look at the walls, they seem to have some green goo on them, and other stuff I cannot explain.

The Eel -

What can i say about the eel? i mean just look at it, do I even NEED to explain.

The Book -

This book is probably worse than the book from The Evil Dead. This book literally flies around and it has TEETH. WTF! Does it also see the dentist. Eating bones can't be easy on the teeth. Thankfully this book is also stupid and flies into the other shelf killing itself instantly. Phew. Crisis avoided.

The Hallway Ghost - 

This ghost just floats there, almost mocking you. And daring you to follow it. Where? Why? Who is this ghost? I cannot say. Why does Princess Peach have a ghost in her hallway, did she kill this poor ghost? Maybe Peach is the killer who is going to jump out and kill me when I'm in the basement. Questions, but no answers.

The Goo -

The gateway to Nessie. Who is even more terrifying than anything else on the game. Which makes this the second most scary thing in the game. I also refer to this as the gateway to Satan.

The Merry Go Round -

OH GEE ! I LOVE MERRY GO ROUNDS HEE HEE HAA HO HEE. OMFG WTF IS THAT?  And then I went insane. Also Mario looks like such a bad-ass in this picture. Fuck you ghost of someone Peach murdered. I'm rescuing her whether you like it or not. Side note: This music haunts my dreams.

The Never Ending Stairs -

I really don't know why the never ending stairs scare me so. I think maybe it's of the freaky music that just keeps on going and no matter how long you try it will ALWAYS keep going. Even if you were to tape the toggle up and leave it like that for the rest of your life, you would NEVER make it without 70 stars. Also Bowser and Peach's portraits are scary too. Always watching. Watching Always.

The Piano -

Who wasn't scared of this piano. You walk by all casually going about your normal Mario business when BOOM! It opens it's HUGE red, jagged teeth lined mouth and immediately starts chomping after you all terrifying like. The strangest thing is that you leave the room, and then come back in, it's "normal". Like we're going to forget what it attempted to do. But not me. I'm on to your tricks. 

Nessie -

I am still to this day scared of this.. dinosaur thing. Look at his lifeless eyes and his freakish grin. Why are you smiling? Do you enjoy me stepping on you ? Why do you swim in circles? Why are you here? I think Peach has some skeletons in her closet. Or inside your belly. Probably both. And the sounds you make. Horrible, horrible nightmare inducing stuff right there. I avoid this stage at all costs. I don't go in there until I absolutely have to. But you know what the worst part is? This freak is in Mario Party 3. I can never escape. Never escape Never. Escape. Never.

In conclusion, Peach is the scariest thing about this game. With her scary murder style basement, dungeons, and (probably) human eating dragon, she deserves the top spot. Nevermind Nessie or the Gateway to Hell.

Reese's Top Ten Videogame Characters (Vol1):

Hello readers ! It's Reese's Pieces here with MY top 10 video game characters EVAR. Thanks for reading, now stay tuned for the show. ;)

10  ) Jill Valentine first appeared in the 1996 game Resident Evil.

 

Jill Valentine is one of THE most bad ass girls in video games. She doesn't need a man around to help her. This brunette is fierce, powerful and you better believe that gun isn't an accessory. She appeals to males and females, that ladies and gents makes her even more awesome.

9 ) Nathan Hale first appeared in the 2006 game Resistance: Fall of Man

Hale is a human who was infected by the Chimera virus while in Britain fighting the Chimera. He also looks like my dad at times... but i digress. Anyway he was the only survivor of the failed liberation of Britain. I like him because he can heal very quickly and take out a whole army of Chimera! He's also kind-hearted. 

8 ) James Sunderland appeared in the 2001 game Silent hill 2

 

James's wife died from a sickness, I don't know which one though. He goes to Silent Hill to search for his dead wife Mary. He got a letter in the mail from her... creepy. In Silent Hill the truth unfolds. James is a sad and lifeless guy, but I bet that a happy person is just waiting to jump right out of him! And he is pretty hot, if I say so myself.

7 ) Tira first appeared in the 2005 Soul Caliber 4 game

 

Tira was raised as an assassin. She began killing people at a young age. Due to her up bringing she became unbalanced, and psychotic, she later killed her adoptive family. She takes amusement  from others suffering. Tira has a gloomy side and a jolly side, I like her jolly side better, because her gloomy side is kind of frightening. I like her fighting style and she reminds me of Harley Quinn.

6 ) Mario first appeared in the 1981 Donkey Kong game

 Well everybody already knows about the story of Mario. Now to get to the interesting part , I like Mario because he's pretty much the reason I started to play video games. He's a flipping Italian plumber with a dramatic Italian accent and  is always saving his love. Cute. =)

5 ) Pyramid Head first appeared in the 200l Silent Hill 2

Yes I know Chantal already has him in her top 10 and you don't want to hear about him again...  I really don't care. Anyway Pyramid Head is the most horrifying character in Silent Hill. He is James's wish for punishment, or sexual repression from his wife's illness . And also he is a SEXY beast. Get it?

4 ) Ghost appeared in the 2009 Modern Warfare 2

Ghost is a member of Task Force 141, he wears a skull-like mask, and that is why he calls himself Ghost. I like him because he is bad ass. He has a cool mask and he has a really really ridiculously hot voice. I would type more about him , but i really don't know that much about him. >_<

3 ) Heather Mason appeared in the 2003 Silent Hill 3

Heather's real name is Cheryl. She is the adopted daughter of Harry mason, who was in the same events as Heather (nice luck they have.) When Harry escapes Alessa hands him a baby, which is both Cheryl and Alessa. She seems to be close to her father. She is a moody, and  formerly carefree girl. 

2 ) Joker 

The Joker is an insane clown that is a master criminal, with a sadistic humor. He has different stories on why he looks the way he does. One is that he fell into toxic waste that bleached his skin white ,and made his hair green and lips bright red. He has an insanely awesome laugh that I wish i could copy. LOL

AND FINALLY THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR... NUMERO UNO!:

1 ) Lili "Emilie" De Rochefort first appeared in the 2005 Tekken: Dark Resurrection

Lili is a rich bitch... haha just kidding. Her fighting style appears to be classic dance with other moves from gymnastics techniques thrown in. Her rival is Asuka Kazama, Even though you can tell Lili and Asuka are kind of friends. As their rivalry seems a bit more... playful? She is in the tournament against her fathers wishes, because she wants to help her father win back his oil field. She is the tallest female character in the Tekken series. Even though she is from Monaco she only appears to speak English. And her accent is ever so slightly British. Strange no? Oh, and you know what really bothers me, her third person outfit. It is so damn revealing. And isn't she only sixteen? I mean what were they thinking. Major barfage. Lili is also currently the youngest person in Tekken, the title previously went to Ling Xiaoyu. Lili also tosses around cars like they were pennies... *sigh* to be rich.

Chantal's Top Ten Videogame Characters (Vol1):

Hey everyone, welcome to Unserious Serious Business aka USB.

This is our first blog post, and today I am going to introduce you to our blog and MY favourite game characters*. (Note: doing a list at 6:23 am in the morning makes it difficult to remember your favourite characters.)

10 ) Niko Bellic seen in (Grand Theft Auto IV)

He is the main character in the 2008 game released on the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.

He is one of the most bad ass mothertruckas around. He may not be the best looking but he makes up for it by tolerating Roman (I kid, I kid.) I mean he is so protective, he's actually kind of a sweetheart, and no I don't have some kind of weird crush on him. Even though Niko is in the belly of the so called underworld he still maintains a level of sophistication and many characters comment on his manners and the fact that he is actually a decent person.

9 ) Princess Peach aka Princess Toadstool

Princess Peach is the love interest of Mario. She has appeared in way too many games to list, sorry! Her first appearance however was in the 1985 Super Mario Bros. I have a soft spot for this princess, ever since I was little in every Mario game if I could, I would pick her. This applies to every Mario Party, or Mario racing games. Even when they were golfing! She may be sickeningly sweet, but you can't deny she's an important part of the Mario franchise, and my childhood. Yep.

8 ) Faith seen in (Mirror's Edge.)

Faith is the main character in the 2008 game Mirror's Edge released on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
She is what every female game character should be. Strong, "modest" (if you get my drift), and actually interesting. She can run, jump, climb and certainly isn't a damsel in distress. She's a big girl, she can handle herself. Faith is a runner, which is why she does all of this running, jumping and climbing. And believe me, she puts it to use. Also, she has noice hair. And Mirror's Edge is just so fun, I love letting my inner monkey roam free.

7 ) Link seen in (The Legend of Zelda)

Link is the main protagonist of the Legend of Zelda series. Quiet and brave are two words you could use to describe this young Hylian/Human southpaw. That's right, he's left handed, like me. MUAHAHA.  Also, look at him. Adult link is H-O-T. Nevermind the fact that the Zelda games are some of the funnest out there.

 6 ) Princess Zelda as seen in (The Legend of Zelda)

Princess Zelda is a member of the royal family of Hyrule. Zelda appears mostly with magical and psychic abilities. She is often the focus of Link's quests. She has two alter egos Sheik and Tetra. Unlike Princess Peach Zelda is not 100% helpless, and can actually fight back.


5 ) Harley Quinn as seen in (Batman Arkham Asylum)

Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn. She is the Joker's on and off again girlfriend and one of Ivy's few friends. I must say Harley is actually pretty awesome. She's immune to most poisons and/or toxins because of the injections given to her by Ivy (see they're practically BFF's!) She is also a talented gymnast, with high agility and strength, and also has above average fighting skills. And her outfit is fabulous muahaha.

4 ) Hwoarang as seen in (Tekken)

First of all, just LOOK at him. You know what I see when I look at this picture? A sexy men waiting for you to sex him up, just kidding. But no seriously, look at his expression. Seriously. You know how most video games forget about the ladies (especially fighting games) well guess what, Tekken sure doesn't. I mean I could make a list about the sexiest men in Tekken, but I won't. Not today anyways. Hwoarang is a cocky, tough, maybe kinda mean red-haired, heartbreaking(I made the heart break part up, haha!) taekwondo artist. Hwoarang is the student of Baek Doo Son. End.

3 ) Pyramid Head as seen in (Silent Hill 2 )

Pyramid Head was first seen in Silent Hill 2 and then later seen in the Silent Hill movie (which most people didn't like but I did, don't kill me please?) Aaaaanyways, he is also known as Red Pyramid Thingy or Triangle Head in Japan. He is one of the more overtly masculine characters in the Silent Hill series, his appearance is based on the town's executioners. He does not speak and mostly makes grunts and moans which suggest he is in pain. His weapon is the Great Knife, which is deadly, heavy and really scary.

2 ) Conker as seen in (Conker's Bad Fur Day)

The game stars Conker as he tries to return to his girlfriend Berry. The game was released in 2001 on the Nintendo 64, it was originally targeted at children, but then it was redesigned for teens and adults. Conkers Bad Fur Day continues to be one of my favourite games even now. He is a cynical, sarcastic, foul-mouthed, alcoholic squirrel who's "weapon" of choice is a frying pan, and later a shotgun and then a frying pan again.

And last but certainly not least...

1 ) Ling Xiaoyu as seen in (Tekken)

What can I say about Xiao. That's right I can call her Xiao, cuz we're totes broskies lidat. (totally not serious here.) Anyways I can say pretty much everything about her. She is the eighteen year old Chinese "love interest" and best friend of Jin Kazama. She fights in the style of Hakkesho and Hikaken. Wang Jin Rei is her grandfather, he trained her for awhile. Xiaoyu is chilidsh, clumsy, and probably too sugary sweet for most peoples tastes. But that's how I like 'em. (Eww, I was kidding.) She also has the honour of being the shortest human character in the Tekken series. Her bodyguard is a panda named ever so creatively Panda. I mean where do they come up wih these names? They're just so awesome. She has a role similar to Jun Kazama in Tekken 6. I have to be honest, I like her and Hwoarang better than her and Jin though. Xiaorang FTW! Oh and she was also tutored by Heihachi after she attacked and knocked out his entire security team.


So here ya go, my top 10 favourite characters in gaming. you may not agree with my opinions on them, but i don't care. That's why they're called opinions and not facts. Although there are facts on this list. Or you may not like any of these characters.But hey, we all have different tastes, right?
